Earlier in the week, Soulja Boy came out to blast a number of media outlets and personalities, including No Jumper, XXL, VladTV, and Hot New Hip Hop. Hot New Hip Hop reported that the rapper commented on all of the aforementioned publications, which prompted a response from Trippie Redd, the Pegasus rapper who apparently isn’t happy with what he had to say.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Soulja Boy questioned the integrity of all of the publications, telling his fans to completely disregard anything reported by them. Redd took to his Instagram Live to make fun of Soulja Boy, using a high-pitched voice to mock him.
Trippie – who came under fire recently for the release of his latest record, Pegasus – mocked Soulja Boy by insinuating that his bravado wasn’t rooted in reality or success in his career. You can check out what the rapper had to say in the YouTube video below:
Whether Trippie Redd has a point or not about Soulja Boy, it’s not clear why he chose to speak out against the “Crank Dat” rapper. Thus far, the social media reaction to Trippie’s remarks hasn’t been overly positive, with a lot of people wondering what led Trippie to trash him so much, considering the rant didn’t even concern him.
Some commenters wondered if the negative reception to Pegasus has Trippie upset. As it was previously reported, the rapper dropped Pegasus earlier in the year and it was slammed by some of his fans as one of his worst albums yet.
However, the record sparked the most controversy over the cover art, which featured him in his underwear, in space, and another image that had him on a horse. Putting his album aside, Trippie was in the headlines again this year when he poked fun at Jay-Z.
In case you missed it, a picture of Jay-Z jumping into the water while on vacation with his wife, Beyonce Knowles, surfaced on the internet and in the media.
Trippie Redd was one such rapper who made fun of him, using the title of Jay’s record, 4:44, to insinuate that Jay had gained nearly as much weight as the title of his last album.
