The Night Comes for Us director Timo Tjahjanto in talks to aboard Gong Yoo starrer Train To Busan’s remake
Gong Yoo starrer Train To Busan, is considered one of the best South Korean films of recent times. The film, directed by the much-acclaimed film-maker Yeon Sang Ho, revolves around Seok Woo played by Gong Yoo who is on a train to Busan with his young daughter to celebrate his wife’s birthday. However, things turn into a nightmare when a mysterious viral outbreak wreaks havoc in their lives, as they find themselves trapped in the train, fighting off the zombie attack. Effortless, innovative and ironically humane, Train to Busan was a critical and commercial success internationally. Now the Korean blockbuster is all set to get its own remake.
According to reports carried out by Deadline, The much-anticipated Train to Busan remake at New Line is finally seeing the light of the day as acclaimed director Timo Tjahjanto is in serious negotiations to helm the remake of the Korean blockbuster film. Timo Tjahjanto recently directed Netflix’s action-thriller The Night Comes for Us, is a skilled director with successful horror-action films in his kitty. James Wan of The Conjuring fame, Michael Clear and Gaumont’s Nicolas Atlan and Terry Kalagian will produce the film. Coin Operated’s Gary Dauberman will be adapting the screenplay. Judson Scott, Sidonie Dumas, Christophe Riandee and Johanna Byer are aboard as executive blockbusters.
Train To Busan Presents: Peninsula, a sequel to the former, released in India on November 27, 2020. Peninsula is headlined by Gang Dong Won and is directed by Yeon Sang Ho.
