After the coronavirus induced lockdown rules were eased in India, is one of the actors who have started working on various projects since then. Taapsee has completed shooting four films already in the last six months and now, has started with the fifth one. Recently, when she was shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s Doo Baraah, a raid had been carried out by the Income Tax department on her and the filmmaker’s properties. Now, in an interview with the Bombay Times, Taapsee has opened up on what happened with her in the past few days, her journey in the film industry and more.
She got her phone back from the IT authorities on Saturday and she tweeted about the raid that was carried out at her homes last week. Talking about the incident, Taapsee said she was not available for a few days, but she was pretty much fine during that time. “My family is okay, too. They’re also asking me the same question, ‘Are you fine?’ And in return, I am asking them that, too,” she added. The actress further said that it’s like they know something has happened, but they don’t know how they are supposed to feel about it because they are just fine.
Be it standing up for matters to do with the film industry or other social issues, Taapsee is always upfront. Talking about the same, she said she has been like this all her life. The diva further explained that she has started from scratch and built everything, including the impression people have of her. And she believes that over a period of time with hard work, and not by fluke, she doesn’t have to make an extra effort to protect it. “I don’t have skeletons in my cupboard. My honesty gives me the confidence to be fearless,” the Pink actress stated.
When asked about her thoughts on women having increasingly taken up high offices and even jobs that were once executed only by men in show business in the last decade, Taapsee said the numbers have increased quickly and drastically. She also said that it will only grow exponentially from here. But the only hindrance they have to fight; is themselves. “It’s the deep-rooted conditioning, stemming from patriarchal systems that we need to get rid of,” Taapsee concluded.
On the work front, apart from Doo Baraah, Taapsee will be also seen in Rashmi Rocket, Looop Lapeta Haseen Dillruba, Shabaash Mithu among others.
