Sarah Michelle Gellar shuts down claims of returning to Buffy the Vampire Slayer sets post Joss Whedon scandal
After allegations against Buffy the Vampire Slayer maker Joss Whedon, the show’s lead Sarah Michelle Gellar recently stated that she is officially done with the show. In a new interview on Mario Lopez‘s podcast, the 43-year-old actress said that she has no plans on ever returning for a possible reboot. “What worked for Buffy was that the monsters represented, they were a metaphor for the horrors of adolescence,” Sarah shared in the interview.
“I don’t think it’s me, I don’t think I should be the one doing it,” Sarah said, adding that she’s “way too tired and cranky to put in that work again.” For the unversed, Sarah‘s comments come in the light of fellow Buffy actress Charisma Carpenter coming forward with allegations of abuse and misconduct against show creator Joss Whedon.
In fact, Sarah even supported her former co-star, and after Charisma got candid about her treatment by Whedon, Sarah issued a statement in support of her former co-star. “I am more focused on raising my family and surviving a pandemic currently, so I will not be making any further statements at this time,” Sarah told Mario in her new interview. “But I stand with all survivors of abuse and am proud of them for speaking out.”
