Farhan Akhtar backs Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun amid ‘nepotism’ row: Don’t weigh him down before he’s begun
Actor Farhan Akhtar always puts across his opinion when it comes to any social or political issue. This time, the actor took to his Twitter handle to share a tweet in support of Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar, who has been subjected to nepotism trolling recently. Arjun has been recently selected by the Mumbai Indians team for India Premier League (IPL) T-20 series 2021 at the auction. Farhan has mentioned in his tweet that he and Arjun go to the same gym and he knows how the young cricketer works hard on his fitness.
Farhan has also added that Arjun is also extremely focussed on becoming a ‘better cricketer’. He has urged everyone not to destroy his enthusiasm before he begins. Farhan’s tweet for Arjun reads as ‘I feel I should say this about #Arjun_Tendulkar. We frequent the same gym & I’ve seen how hard he works on his fitness, seen his focus to be a better cricketer. To throw the word ‘nepotism’ at him is unfair & cruel. Don’t murder his enthusiasm & weigh him down before he’s begun.”
Soon, Farhan’s ladylove Shibani Dandekar also came out in support of Arjun; she re-tweeted her beau’s tweet and wrote, “THIS!!!”

On Thursday, during the IPL 2021 auction, Arjun was bought at a base price of Rs 20 Lakh by Mumbai Indians. Soon, Twitter erupted with memes on the legendary cricketer’s son where they reportedly called him a ‘product of nepotism.’ However, amid the trolling, many cricket lovers also backed Arjun too and called trolling ‘irrelevant’. A few users said that if he doesn’t play well, he’ll be dropped.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Farhan Akhtar will next be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofan. The actor will be seen portraying the role of a boxer in the film. It will also star Mrunal Thakur in the lead role.
